IC 1340 - NGC6995 is part of the veil nebula which is a large super nova remnant in the constellation Cygnus. The colorful tendrils are filments of gas that are expanding since the super nova exploded around 5,000 to 8,000 years ago. This portion of the nebula has also been named "The Bat".
